I have also devoted tremendous time to minimally invasive thoracic approaches to performing the Maze procedure, using Atricure radiofrequ ency system, lung resections with thoracosco pic guidance, thoracosco pic guided epicardial lead placement for BiVentricu lar devices via a 1/2-1 inch incision. I have performed close to 100 maze open procedures as well used in treatment for cure of atrial fibrillati on. I also have extensive experience in laser lead extraction s via the spectronet ics system for infected or fractured leads performing over 125 procedures without major Intraopera tive complicati ons. I have performed minimally invasive aortic valve replacemen ts via the Harvard approach with instructio n from Larry Cohn at Harvard. As well as at Duke Medical Center( Dr. Glower). I have performed over 2000 cardiac procedures having worked at a 700 bed cardiac hospital for 14 years. I enjoy mitral valve repair, and redo procedures constitute approx 30-40 % of the procedures . I developed the off pump coronary artery bypass program at Sarasota Memorial Hospital performing more off-pump procedures than any other surgeon on staff. With another physician, I ran an internatio nal off-pump surgery meeting, and provided instructio n to numerous surgeons throughout the United States via Genzyme company. I am searching for a program overseas that is interested in advancing a minimally invasive thoracic program and surgical management of atrial fibrillati on. I have been dedicated to using off pump approaches to managing coronary artery disease.
